About Me

Who I Am

I was born in Surrey and grew up in Berkshire. I went to the Abbey School in Reading and then went on to read Law at Southampton University. I always planned to move back to Berkshire once I’d graduated but actually, I didn’t want to leave beautiful Hampshire.

I live in a very small but picturesque village with my three daughters, horse, four cats, dog and a husband.

About Me.

I started writing about thirty years ago. I was one of those children with a torch under the bedcovers scribbling away at my various stories on a notepad, which usually involved horses because I was mad about them as a child. I was always top of my English class – which was good because my science and maths abilities severely let me down. To this day I still count on my fingers.

As I grew, so did my writing and I wrote a ‘book’ when I was sixteen. It took me the whole of the summer holidays. I have no idea what it was about other than it was based on novels by the fabulous Barbara Erskine, so it would probably have included some hundred year old ghosts running about the place. At the same age I entered a competition to have my book published. I was full of hope but they rejected it, albeit with the sentence ‘a star of the future, just not quite yet’. Hmm, we’ll come back to that one.

I graduated in Law from Southampton University in 2004 and instead of going into, you know, a proper job earning money, I very quickly decided that I wanted to be a writer. So I started out doing bits of content here and there before setting up my own business, Sarah-Jayne Communications. I focused on the business for a while before deciding that I was going to write the story that had been germinating in my brain for years. And so, THE ART OF DECEPTION was born. And is now due to be published in 2026 – exciting!

Outside of writing I have three daughters, a horse, four cats, a dog and a husband. When I’m not riding, or walking our enthusiastic spaniel named Polo, I love to socialise. Especially if it happens to be whilst I have a glass of wine in my hand.
